Olympics

I've never really cared for the Olympics before but some how this year I totally got into them. I can't get enough!! I'm not sure what changed in me to suddenly love them but I'm having a good time cheering on the Americans.

It is really making me want to do all sorts of athletic things now though. I bought a new 1-piece swim suit that I'll be able to go to the gym and wear to do laps at the pool. Thanks Michael Phelps, lol. At least the suit was on sale. It was only 30 dollars when it was originally 120. Not a bad deal!

I'd also like to do Gymnastics but at this point in my life I think I can safely say I am not flexible enough for that kind of thing!

Then we watched the women's marathon and now I want to run super far and fast. Not because it looked like fun like the swimming or gymnastics, but because of how awesome their stomachs looked! They were so flat!! I really do need to add some distance to my running though. Doing 2 miles a few times a week doesn't really make me much of a runner :P

Oddly enough, while the Olympics make me want to work out, they make my husband want cake and ice cream. So one night we made a late night run to Jewel and picked up some, and stuffed ourselves while we watched our girls gymnastic team. Hahaha :)

Semi-Charmed Kind of Life

My husband and I were driving the other day and some woman pulled out into traffic right in front of us. We were driving straight on a busy street and I just don't think she even ever looked in our direction. She just pulled out as she felt like it and we had to hit our brakes so we didn't hit her. I commented how it must be nice to live such a charmed life where everyone just looks out for you all the time.

Then it kind of hit me. I sort of DO have that kind of life. My friends and family look out for me all the time.

Phil recently heard of a job opening at his company and he told me about it and then emailed me the link for the site. Elise's friend had an opening at her company and Elise called me about it and put me in touch with her friend. Neither job really seemed quite right for me at this time, but how awesome to have eyes and ears out like that into the world. My husband's parents also submitted my resume in with their companies. My parents' friend has emailed me about job openings in my area at her company as well.

As soon as I started thinking about all of these things, I really started to feel like the luckiest person is the world. It wasn't that I didn't appreciate these things previously, but thinking about all of these instances together in a big pile made me realize just how charmed my life is right now. And it IS nice! :)
